Four friends gather at a luxurious hotel to celebrate a birthday. It's supposed to be a great night, but it quickly turns into a nightmare as they begin to receive note delivered to them mysteriously hinting that their friend's death a year ago on that same night was all their fault. Is one of them hiding something or are they all collectively to blame? Friendships will be tested, hearts will break, and the heartbreaking truth will all come out before the night is over. 

This is a fast paced read that many will devour in a day or two. The twist at the end will certainly surprise you- I know I was not expecting it. As I read Room Service, I pictured it as a movie. There are definitely scenes throughout this story that would look really beautiful (and scary) if done right on the big screen!

  This book is crazy! In a small town that is seemingly beset by violence every November, Wyatt begins to question just what is really behind all of these deaths. Upon stumbling on her mother's murdered body, and seeing some townsfolk die and classmates kill themselves, Wyatt is convinced there is a sickness afflicting the town. Wyatt also worries this sickness is starting to affect her boyfriend Cash, who seems to genuinely want to kill their classmate, Porter. Once Wyatt and Porter become partners for a class project, Wyatt's attention (and affection) is split between the two and she becomes more and more concerned that something terrible is going to happen to someone close to her and she might be in the most danger of anyone! Hide and Don't Seek by Anica Mrose Rissi

 This is a really fun read that anyone who enjoys a little bit of fear will devour in one sitting. This collection of scary stories will creep you out and chuckle along the way as well! There's something in here for everyone, whether it is ghosts, skeletons, disappearing people, and even people turning into animals! Some stories are written in prose, others poetry, and one is even written in a transcript of a phone call.  I remember reading Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark when I was a kid in school. I think we can add this title to that shelf of books because these scary tales are certainly in that same vane! You can read them one story per sitting and just plow through the whole book at once! I know I went back and read a couple of them over a second time in order to share them with my kids as well! -TK
